The Spring Dinner Party

The Spring Dinner Party was successfully held on May 8, 2012 at Empire Kitchen of Empire Hotel, CWB.  22 guests were present, and judging from their comments, they were quite pleased with the cuisines offered.  The highlight was the roasted suckling pig (not Euro pigs, LOL) which was somewhat different from the traditional Chinese style,  it was juicy, tender and delicate.  Besides the salmon sashimi was quite good too.

Compared to the Metropark Hotel buffet, this one lacks Chinese style desserts and my favorite cheese .  The best part is that David, our CEO managed to bargain a good all-inclusive price for us at $145 per person instead of $220 as previously estimated.  On behalf of all members, I would like to thank David for his recommendation and arrangement of this successful dinner event.

Spring Dinner Party Gathering

As approved by the Chairman, the Management Committee proposes to organize a dinner gathering on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Empire Hotel, 8 Wing Hing Street, 1st Floor, Causeway Bay.  The dinner will start from 6:30pm and will be a buffet style dinner featuring roasted sucklin pig, sashimi and many other delicious cuisines.  The average cost per head is about HK$220 including service charge but excluding specially ordered beverage.

Members who are interested please contact any of the Committee members before Friday, May 4, 2012 so that seats may be reserved in advance.

Lucky Draw

In accordance with Article 3 of the minutes of the 1st Committee meeting, the Management Committee approved CEO’s proposal to organise a lucky draw during the coming Year-End Annual Dinner Party on Thursday, January 5, 2012.  It was agreed to allocate HK$2,000 from the surplus fund for this purpose.

We sincerely hope that members who have not yet decided to join the party, please do so as soon as possible.  We look forward to seeing all of you in the dinner party.

肇慶遊記完結篇～泥燴雞，裹蒸粽

在旅遊巴士上聽導遊介紹，肇慶有一個著名的民間美食叫『泥燴雞』，她建議我們可以一試。每隻人民幣70元包括送到房間，很多人都下訂，我們也預訂了一隻準備晚上作夜宵。老莊和財哥住在我們隔壁，我們剛剛洗好澡，他們打電話叫我們過去聊天。老莊愛喝紅酒，已經開了一瓶和財哥兩人對酌。經不起老莊的盛意拳拳，我也斟了一點做做樣子。十點半左右，我們預訂的泥燴雞到了，一共三隻。我原來以為泥燴雞應該像北方的叫化雞，外面用泥包住用慢火煨熟。但這個僅是裡面用荷葉包住雞，外面再用錫紙包裹。財哥用純熟的手法先打開一隻，用小刀切了分給大家吃，一時香氣四溢，我們雖然剛剛吃過自助餐，肚子還很飽；但是這個時候也不禁饞涎欲滴，食指大動。一嚐之下果然雞味十足，名不虛傳。老莊又打電話請會長伉儷和平凡伉儷來一快朵頤。哪知會長也已預訂了一隻，便帶了過來一起享用。我們六人一共吃了三隻，再也吃不下了。過了不久，CEO伉儷浸好溫泉也聞風而至，我們便將剩下的那一隻給他們帶回去吃。大夥兒一面品嚐美酒，一面談天說地，不覺已是午夜，興盡而歸。

一宿無話，醒來天邊已是魚肚白了。揚兄和我梳洗完畢到西餐廳吃自助早餐，團友一個都不見，快吃完的時候方才見到平凡伉儷姍姍來遲。上午是自由活動，平凡建議我們到酒店附近的仙女湖遊覽拍照。早晨遊客不多，沿湖一帶景色如畫，空氣清新，令人心曠神怡。我們本想繞湖漫步一周，但由於其中一段不准遊客進入，只得回頭走到仙女湖的另一端，才盡興回到酒店。稍為休息一會，便提了行李下樓準備離開酒店繼續旅程。

導遊帶我們到一家名為『肥仔偉』的裹蒸粽專賣店。參觀了裹蒸粽的製作過程，也試吃了他們現場製作的裹蒸粽，味道一般，覺得沒有什麼新意。在附設的商場看見他們粽子的價錢合理，胡亂買了兩包鹼水粽回去給老伴嚐嚐。隨後送我們到肇慶七星岩湖牌坊廣場附近的富悅飯店吃午飯。雖然菜色普通，但是味道不錯。飯後揚兄和我兩個到七星岩湖牌坊廣場那裡走了一圈，拍了幾張照片留念。

至此肇慶OYC酒店兩天逰的旅程已經到了尾聲。一個多小時後旅遊巴士把我們送到高明客輪碼頭坐船回港。這次旅遊雖然只有短短兩天，但是我覺得很充實愉快。其他團友從他們臉上綻放的笑容，應該也很滿意。在這裡我謹代表所有參加這次旅遊的團友，感謝CEO錢君辛勞的安排讓我們渡過一段愉快的時光。
